Blue Death Feigning Beetle (Asbolus verrucosus)

Also known as the Desert Ironclad Beetle, the Blue Death Feigning Beetle is a species of Darkling beetle (Tenebrionidae) that is native to western North America. A. verrucosus is typically seen near sand dunes and like other darkling beetles it is likely a scavenger.
