An amateur prospector has made the find of a lifetime in southern Australia, unearthing a gold nugget weighing around 5kg(11lbs) just outside the town of Ballarat. The deposit was found with a hand-held metal detector at a depth of a little over 60cm(24inches). The nugget is expected to fetch more than $315,340US.
